Savoring the Unexpected....

So you probably will either *GASP*, *GAG* or send up a *HOORAH* and an *AMEN*  when you read this post.  So be it :)

One of the few things that I love about the commercial/retail side of Easter (not much I agree with on this so here's at least one gasp so far) is jelly beans.  I LOVE jelly beans.  So much so, that a precious family friend (much like a special second mama) started to call me "Jelly Bean" when I was just a teeny thing.  It has been a term of endearment ever since.  In fact, I was recently reminded of this special name just when I ecstatically added her (vicariously through her hubby) as a friend on Facebook :)

Now for the next round of gasping.... which jellybeans do I savor the most???  BLACK ONES!!!!!  OMGOODNESS do I love BLACK jellybeans!!!  That punch of spice and the wow that zings the back of your throat after eating about 20-30 of them (all at one time of course) is undeniably the bestest thing EVER!  Not to mention grossing my kids out by sticking my ever colorful tongue in their faces, lol!

What does Easter and retail have to do with all this you may ask?  I can find a WHOLE bag full of none other than ONLY black jellybeans at Easter time :)   HEAVEN!  Well, sorta, lol!  There is a point where I've ingested one too many and have had to wait at least 5 minutes before eating any more :D

So there you have it.  I'm sick, I know.  Betcha never woulda figrd me for the black jelly bean type, eh?

shot with a Canon 5D using a 50mm 1.4 lens.... LOVE!

  1. I knew I liked you for a reason:) Like you, I love black jelly beans. Not only do I love black jelly beans but also black licorice and black crows. There used to be a gum I chewed, Black Jack.

Your post brought some wonderful memories to mind. Thank you!
