Bi-polar-ness, Texas at It's Best!

I sit here, on a bitterly cold, drizzly, cloudy day having just driven home from church with sleet (or "snow" as we frozen-fluff starved Texans like to call it) hitting our windshield.  Yep, we have a cold front.  Funny enough, the other FEW snow times we've had seem to pop up right around Valentine's Day.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE spring here, when we get enough moisture and I think we have this year.  The one thing I'm praying for though... just one pretty snow.  I want snow!  The last time we had a glimmer of it, no sooner did we finish school and grab the camera to go play in the minuscule amount, it turned to rain and dissolved all happiness that day.

It amazes me that just yesterday we had a sunshine wrapped, crisp air kind of day, and today, freezing cold and drizzly.  Texas may be bipolar where her weather is concerned but at least she does it with a "spring" in her step ;)

(P.S.  The Reveal, I'm excited to say, is still coming :)  Just later than I had planned, lol!)

♥ Heaven ♥

Today is FENCH/FENCE Friday :) It's a group(s) on flickr that I joined a while. I adore fences. ANYTHING fences! This is my entry for this week. It's taken from my spring archives. This spring blew through as quickly as a puff of a dandelion. Gentle yet swiftly moving. Never slowing down. Gone in an instant, but captured forever.

The glorious color we had this spring blew my mind. Every where I turned I saw the brush strokes of my sweet Jesus. From the lake shore to the highway, from the back country roads to the front yard.... it was AMAZING! He touched me this spring in a way I will NEVER forget. He moved my spirit, He grabbed my heart, He healed my pain, He gave me joy unspeakable..... and through photography, He gave me tranquil transportation back to that time and place.
I am such a visual person. When I see a photograph that I've taken, I immediately sense everything from that moment. The fresh cool breeze, the intense fragrance of the flowers, the buzzing of the bees and the overwhelming feel of His arms and hands guiding me, covering me and hugging me. Praise the Lord for photography!!!!!! I want to stay here in this moment forever, and through the camera, I can!

Another attempt....

I know that I will eventually understand how to set things up here. I did finally figure out how to get a pretty background, lol!!! All I need is time right? So much happening, so little time it seems. Time is drifting away... just like my precious spring flowers...... AKKKKKK!

I just finished one of the largest orders I've ever placed. It took 3hrs to upload to the print company. That's just insane! I am also finishing up processing my first paid wedding session. I was so blessed to have a precious friend offer to assist me. We had two cameras set up. One with the kit lens and one with my 50mm prime :). So far I'm pretty pleased with the way things turned out. A total of around 1,000 shots were taken! WHEW! Better to have too many than not enough :D

There's still so much to learn about all this. I'm really not a techno-babe by any stretch of the imagination and with me, everything is self taught. That translates to..... "everything takes a really looooooong time to get done!". Soooo, orders take me hours to process, hours to upload and lots more gray hair. This is the part that isn't as fun. I REALLY love shooting everything! It's just the time it takes to turn the fun into print. I don't believe that computers will ever take over our world, too inefficient. They just can't match our God-given FAST brains :)

Since it is now 12:18am (EARLY! hahaha!) I probably should shut things down. Early day tomorrow. We get to PLAY! Hoping to also be able to blog the latest thing that's affected our lives. Key word.... VAN!
